Trek In Sikkim

Geographically, Sikkim encompasses the tropical to the snow bound regions. Within are the orchids, the blue sheep, the musk deer, pheasants, the red panda, its native people, their enchanting customs, traditions, religions, their simple way of life, their mysterious mountains and their guardian-deity - the Mount Khangchen Dzo Nga. The following programs can be followed for a pleasant trek. The day wise schedule is flexible and can be changed along the way to make it more comfortable for you. Typically all treks follow a same kind of pattern in timing - wake up at 7 a m, breakfast at 7.30 and start trek by 8 30 and get to bed by 8 30 p m. However many hard trekkers make their own rules and have more fun than the rest. Goechala Trek Standing at the Goechala (18000 ft) on a clear day one could see Mt Khangchen Dzo Nga (often misspelled as Kanchanjunga) up close and full blast. Once reaching here it is customary to pray, have tea/coffee and snacks, stretch out the legs tired from the morning's walk and relax before heading back down to the camp.
