Acid Salicylic I.P 5% w/v
Coal Tar B.P 1% w/v
In Ointment Base

ACTION AND USE :
Coal Tar is a time honoured remedy for chronic skin diseases and due to the presence of various aromatic components, it has antipruritic effect which allays irritation of the skin and is effectively used in Eczema, Psoriasis and other skin diseases. Its efficacy is increased in presence of UV light?

Salicylic Acid is well known fungicide by its exfolictive action. It has keratalytic properties and is useful in the treatment of eczematoid dermatitis and other skin diseases.

The role of Thiotar in the management of pityriasis versicolor and allied problems.
Pityriasis varsicolor is manifested with patches of lesions varying in colour from white to brown and is caused by pityrosporum orbiculare. The lesions may not become repigmented until the fungus is clear. Thiotar being fungicidal in action it will help to eliminate the causative fungus. For better result it should be supplemented with application of Thiosol Fort lotion.

INDICATION :
Pityriasis versicolor, Psoriasis, Seborrhoeic, Dermatitis, Lichen, Eaczema etc.

MODE OF APPLICATION :
Thiotar is to be applied gently on the effected area, once a day. After disappearance of the causative fungi the skin is likely to appear depigmented . On exposure to sun the normal skin colour will be restored after a few days.
