Thermoplastic Urethane (Tpu)

Thermoplastic Urethane (TPU) results from co-polymerization of two or more monomers. One monomer is used to provide the hard, crystalline features, whereas the other monomer produces the soft, amorphous features. Combined these form a thermoplastic material that exhibits properties similar to the hard, vulcanized elastomer's.

Because of its toughness and versatility, as well as a generally higher price tag than other TPEs, urethane is typically used for parts requiring a high level of performance. These applications frequently demand a flexible material with a high degree of flex resistance, wear ability, and durability. Particularly at lower temperatures, other materials do not provide this combination of properties.

Properties:
* High flexibility/ elasticity over a broad temperature range down to -50A C
* High resistant to tearing, tear initiation and tear propagation with high ultimate elongation
* High abrasion resistant
* Extremely puncture proof and thermoformable
* Microbe & hydrolysis resistant
* High resistance to fuel, oil, grease and solvents
* Good chemical & mechanical resistance
* Good resistance to liquids but still high water permeability
