APPLICATION
- Cloud point is a critical factor in the performance of nonionic
surfactants in scouring operation. Once a surfactant reaches its cloud
point, its solubility decreases and redeposition of soils increases.
Zycol TSA Liquid acts synergistically with the nonionic surfactants to
alter their cloud point and thus increase the optimal range of
effective detergency. As the temperature of the wash system decreases,
the performance of surfactants is affected and the formation of viscous
gel phases often occur as the surfactants begin to dissolve. Zycol TSA
Liquid interacts with the nonionic surfactants in the system and
disrupts the formation of these gel phases, increasing the rate of
surfactant dissolution and improving overall cleaning performance. - Oily soils, if allowed to redeposit on fabric, are often
entrapped in cotton fibrils or attach themselves to polyester fibers,
and cause a marked yellowing effect on the cloth. This yellowing is
unsightly and causes clothes to appear older or dirtier than they
actually are. While some surfactants can remove oily soils from
fabrics, they are not always effective at keeping the loosened soils
from redepositing. - The hydrophobic portion of the Zycol TSA Liquid causes the
- polymer to aggressively adsorb onto the oily soils removed from
the fabric and hold them in suspension, thus preventing the soils from
redepositing on the cloth. - In dyeing, the presence of calcium, magnesium and heavy metal
salts such as iron, manganese, zinc etc. reacts with the dye to form
insoluble compound and causes agglomeration of dyes which results in
weaker, patchy or uneven dyeing and lower fastness properties. - Zycol TSA Liquid disperses insoluble inorganic salts of calcium
and sequester hardness ions and heavy metal ions, hence prevents
quality problems in pretreatment and dyeing. - Since have very high dispersion properties,it is recommended to add in a dyeing baths where dispersion stability is the issue.
- During biopolishing/biofading treatment,cellulase enzymes weaken
the fibres protruding from the surface by degradation, preferably of
the amorphous structure of the fibre. The enzyme-weakened fibres are
sensitive to shear forces and upon application of sufficient shear get
removed from the substrate which then may get redeposited during
subsequent rinsing. - Zycol TSA Liquid being a good dispersant produces quick flocculation ensuring effective fluff removal.
