TAURUS TFE is a self-lubricating engineering material of construction which can markedly improve the performance and service life of wear elements, seals, and other key components of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. When used in its virgin state, this material offers the design engineer a unique set of basic properties, including a coefficient of friction lower than that of graphite, outstanding temperature resistance, and a corrosion and chemical resistance equal to or better than that of glass. When compounded with inorganic fillers or when used as an internal lubricant for other thermoplastics, it possesses a wear resistance comparable to many soft-metal alloys and superior to most other self-lubricating materials. In addition, TAURUS TFE possesses many special properties which are of particular interest to the mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic engineer, such as a freedom from stick slip, an excellent plastic memory and an ability to absorb contaminants. Because of these basic and special property advantages, TAURUS TFE can be used in many difficult applications where hostile environments or operating restrictions cause early failure or entirely preclude the use of lubricants and parts constructed from other materials. This, however, is not the limit of TAURUS TFE's use. Frequently it can simplify the design and lower the cost of systems where there are no unusual application difficulties by eliminating the need for lubrication, permitting standardization of
