Tafero tablets are an antiviral medication used to treat chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections. Depending on the specific tablet, the active ingredient is either tenofovir alafenamide alone or a combination of tenofovir alafenamide and emtricitabine. Active ingredientsTafero (Tenofovir Alafenamide): This version of the tablet contains tenofovir alafenamide, an antiviral medication that prevents viruses from multiplying in human cells.Tafero EM (Tenofovir Alafenamide and Emtricitabine): This fixed-dose combination adds emtricitabine, which also works to block reverse transcriptase, an enzyme necessary for the HIV virus to replicate.
