Antique Brass Pocket Sundial - 2 7/8 Inches Tall, 2 1/2 Inches Diameter | Internal Magnetic Compass, Hinged Design, Custom Engraving Available

This is a beautiful polished solid brass reproduction of an antique pocket sundial with an internal magnetic compass. The top of the sundial is hinged and a curved scale is used to set your local latitude angle. The magnetic compass allows the sundial to be oriented North. The compass features a needle lift mechanism to protect the compass's jeweled bearing when being transported. The sun's shadow cast by the sundial's vane marks the local time.
The top of the sundial can lay down flat, and both the latitude scale and the sundial vane are hinged to lay flat for compact storage. The sundial measures a maximum of 2 7/8 inches (7.0 cm) tall, 7/8 inches (2.3 cm) tall when collapsed, the body of the compass is 2 1/2 inches (6.4 cm) in diameter, and the sundial weighs 4.5 ounces (128 grams). An optional Small Hardwood Case with Inlaid Compass Rose is available for storage and display. Your personal inscription can be custom engraved on the back of the sundial.
