a cThis is a multipurpose Solar Engine. Its capacity varies from 1 KWh to 100 KWh. The capacity can be enhanced in megawatts on requirement.
a cIt is based upon solar thermal power technology. The solar radiation contains 350 Watts of visible energy and 550 Watts of thermal energy out of 1030 Watts of total solar radiation. Photovoltaic (PV) Technology uses visible energy of solar radiation which is only 350 watts of standard solar raditions. In general the efficiency of Photovoltaic cells is about 30-40 % so the energy production comes to a very lowest level. In thermal technology, but the matter becomes reverse, because the solar thermal radiation may be concentrated upto many folds (upto 90%) which can enable the device to generate the energy from early in the morning to evening. This enables the device to occupy a less area in comparison to Photovoltaic unit for same energy generation.
a cThe Photovoltaic (PV) technology provides only electrical energy of DC. AC is prepared from this DC so there is some loss of electrical energy in the conversion process. Besides this PV technology cannot provide other purposes. But in case of Thermal technology Solar thermal technology can serve Electrical energy(AC) of 220 Volts, room heating, Water heating, pumping unit for irrigation, Cooking unit, air conditioner unit and water purifier unit also.
