These shutter springs can be supplied both in lengths of approximately 4,000 mm and in short lengths. The maximum diameter of the shutter spring presently we are doing is 200 mm outer diameter.
Alcomex possesses an advanced shot peening installation with a powder coating line which offers the possibility for shot peening and coating. shot peening is a cold working process used to produce a compressive residual stress layer and modify mechanical properties of the spring. Powder coating is to prevent the spring from corrosion. Door springs can also be supplied in galvanized steel, it means the material will be galvanized before manufacturing the shutter spring. One more method is that the shutter spring will be galvanized after the production process, it means the shutter spring manufactured will be zinc plated and hydrogen embrittlement process will be carried out to remove the hydrogen from the shutter spring to avoid breaking. The material is high carbon steel EN 10270/1 SH as per din 17223C.
It is a grade 4 material.
It is the best choice of material for manufacturing shutter door springs.
We do fatigue testing of the shutter springs to determine the effective life of the springs.
