They can be easily replaced without any major tools.Due to spikes pull out and insertyion it no tyre, frame gets to use multiple times, since new spikes can be easily replaced with worn out spikes. Cost of spikes is minor in comparison to whole equipment.As only worn out spikes need to be replaced, its ensure the total equipment works for long time, and gives full value for money . ( Its similar to adding new buttons to shirt when old buttons are lost , and not throwing the shirt away ) . The total equipment does't need to be thrown in case of missing spike areas ( which can lead to security breach )
