Rigid PU Foam Systems
Rigid PU Foam systems is a plastic solid with a random cellular structure having thousand of closed cells per cubic inches of expanded material. The rigid PU foam is formed by a controlled reaction between two ingredients an isocynate and a polyol in presence of selected catalyst and additives. Once the reaction has been initiated the viscous liquid foam mixture expands rapidly upto 25-30 times its original volume and hardens. It adhers tenaciously to most surface and foam a monolithic structure.
Rigid PU Foam systems have unique properties ,like energy saving properties, high strength to weight ratio low t thermal conductivity low water vapour transmission buoyancy and ideal electrical properties. A great no of uses for rigid polyurethane(PU) foams are known in the literature which are essentially based on the above mention properties.
