Rheological Additive Bk-500

Rheological Additive BK-500 belongs to the unconventional type of organoclays group, being an easy-to-disperse, self-activated organoclay, BKAR-500 does not require a chemical (polar) activator to reach the proper level of delamination of the organoclay platelet stacks.
However, in order to improve dispersing property and thickening property,high speed shear and polar activator will be required.
Polar Activator: Dosage of polar activator (such as 95%ethanol, 95%methanol, acetone or propylene carbonate)is 33% by weight of BKAR-500.
Recommended Levels:
The amount of BKAR-500 rheological additive required depends upon the type of organic system and the degree of thickening or other properties desired. Addition levels are typically between 0.2%-2.0% based on the total formulation weight.
