Key Features
Reverse Osmosis system comprises of the Semi permeable membranes inserted in the RO housing. The membranes are fed with the water to be purified. The water in the RO unit is separated into two streams. The purfied water which has a low TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is called the Permeate and the water with high TDS is called the Reject water.
The RO system is mainly used for desalination of the water.
The RO systems are also used in recycling of waste water post ETP or STP's in conjunction with other conventional or membrane systems for removal of total suspended solids, BOD, COD, Oils, Organics etc.
Depending upon the TDS of the feed water the membranes used for Reverse Osmosis may be the Tap Water Membranes (TW), Brackish Water Membranes (BW), Sea Water Membranes (SW).
A normal RO system comprises of a raw water feed pump, Multimedia filter, Micron filter, High Pressure pump, RO Membranes placed in the RO Housing along with Antiscalant dosing and instrumentation.
