Reflecting Telescopes

The Sky Scan N310 is a very good telescope for amateurs who are not yet accustomed to telescopes and have just started out. It has a high focal ratio and hence gives good image quality. It is very useful for moon and planetary viewing. With an eyepiece of 18mm focal length, a good deal of details can be seen on planets. Jupiter and 4 of it's moons, Jupiter's band, Saturn, phases of Venus can be seen very clearly. The moon of course can be observed in detail. Plaeids, the Orion Nebula can be better seen with an eyepiece of around 30mm.

Primary mirror : 80mm diameter with front surface aluminum coating , having Silicon Monoxide protective layer, Spherical and hand figured mirror.

Focal length : 790 mm.
f / ratio : f / 10.

Secondary mirror : Minor axis 19.1mm , flatness better than 0.2 microns (lambda/4), and having front surface aluminum coating with protective Silicon Monoxide layer.

Tube : Lightweight , impact-resistant PVC tube treated internally with matt finish black paint for maximum contrast. Outside of the tube painted with Epoxy paint.

Tube length : Approximately 800 mm.

Total Height : 3 1/2 feet approximately. (42 inches).

Mounting : Wooden stand , fitted on aluminium tripod with self - lubricating nylon bushes , having both vertical and horizontal motions (Alt-Azimuth).
