Right on time for the definition of new technical standards for data transfer, LEONI presents a QSFP copper module for Infiniband, QDR and 40GB Ethernet applications. The new module, comprising a ParaLink cable and a connector plug as well as circuit boards and a casing, completes the reliable ParaLink range of products for 24 to 32 AWG applications. The independent task force HSSG recently discovered that passive twin axial cable assemblies of 10 metres and longer are excellently suited for connecting racked switches and processing units in data centres or relay stations.

QSFP (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable) is an expansion to the established I/O interface system SFP+ and enables data transfer at 4 x 10 Gb/s in each direction with form factor 4X. The innovative connector plug design replaces the CX-4 standard for SDR (Single Date Rate) and DDR (Double Data Rate), expanding the specifications to include high-frequency QDR (Quad Data Rate) applications. The copper-based solution designed by LEONI is not just raising the bar with unrivalled NEXT characteristics and self-damping, but also with its extremely small diameter which is 20% below industrial average.
