Temperature:

Keep the temperature above 55 F. and winter temperature between 61-68F. podocarpus will grow well in a well light indoor spot. Podocarpus Macrophyllus has a tendency to dry out without proper humidity.

Lighting:

Podocarpus Macrophyllu likes direct sunlight. Put it beside the bright window as an indoor plant. Little light or more darker will result in large, elongated needles. In hot summer with strong sunlight, give it a shade to avoid leaf-burn.
Watering:
The soil should be not dry out and the pot needs adequate drainage. The needles becoming gray and root rot are signs of overwatering. Increasing humidity is very important for its growth.

Fertilizing:

Indoor bonsai, liquid fertilizer can be used to feed. Every two weeks in warm weather and every six in winter.

It likes slightly acid soil with enough magnesium and iron; apply a dose of chelated iron twice yearly. To prevent magnesium deficiency, use 2-3 applications of Epsom salts (1 tbs per gallon of water) a year.
Pruning:

It is suitable for all sizes of bonsai, and all styles except broom.
