Pequi Oil

Pequi Oil (Caryocar brasiliense) also known as a souari oila is becoming a popular skin and hair care ingredient due to its unique composition of fatty acids, and excellent moisturizing abilities. Pequi Oil is wonderful for treating skin conditions such as eczema and chronic dry skin. It can be used on its own as a body oil or serum, but incorporates easily into lotions, balms, soaps, and countless other skin care formulations.

Pequi Oil is also a pleasant surprise for hair care formulators. Pequi can add shine and reduce frizz by smoothing hair cuticles when added to hair oils, conditioners, and serums. Use Pequi Oil alone, or in a blend to moisturize dry, brittle hair, tame split ends, or to act as a deep conditioning treatment.

Pequi oil is also rich in monounsaturated fatty acids , the same heart-healthy fat found in nuts and olive oil. Researchers believe these monounsaturated fats play a role in lowering cholesterol and reducing blood pressure.
