Panchagavyam

Panchagavyam, as the name suggests is a component of 5 products obtained from cow. There is a total of nine ingredients used in its preparation. These include the milk, curd, jaggery, banana, ghee, coconut water, cow dung, and cow urine.It is a wonderful agricultural fertiliser and used for various treatments in plants. It isprepared in a flat container made of mud, concrete or plastic. Specifically, the container should not be made of metal. The cow dung is first mixed in Ghee in the container. It is then mixed twice every day for 3 days. Then, the remaining ingredients are added to the container. The mixture is then mixed twice a day for 15 days. Panchagavyam should be kept always covered and stored in a place which does not have direct sunlight. Panchagavyam can be stored for 60 days without affecting its quality, provided that it is kept under proper hygienic conditions and is being stirred every day, at least twice. Water is added to un-thicken the solution in case it does over time.
