Product Overview

Key Features

P-chlorophenol, also known as 4-chloro phenol (4-chloro phenol), 4-chloro-1-hydroxybenzene,4-chloro-1-hydroxybenzene(4-chloro-1-hydroxybenzene) . Pure products are colorless crystals, and industrial products are yellow or pink crystals or powders. Easily volatile, the steam has an unpleasant pungent smell. Flammable, slightly soluble in water, solubility in water (20a ) 27.1g/L, soluble in benzene, ethanol, ether, glycerin, chloroform, fixed oil and volatile oil. A 1% aqueous solution makes litmus acidic, which is less acidic than phenol and stronger than benzene. This product is mainly used in pesticides, pharmaceuticals, dyes, plastics and other industries. It is also used as a color change agent for ethanol, a selective solvent for refined mineral oil, and microscopic analysis. P-Chlorophenol is combustible when exposed to open flames and high heat, and pyrolysis produces toxic and corrosive fumes. It has a strong stimulating effect on eyes, mucous membranes, respiratory tract and skin. After inhalation, it may cause death due to inflammation, edema, spasm, chemical pneumonia, and pulmonary edema of the larynx and bronchi. Poisoning manifestations include burning sensation, cough, wheezing, laryngitis, headache and nausea. The molecular formula is C6H5ClO.
