2-Bromothiophene Application and Synthesis
Chemical Property:Colorless oily liquid. The boiling point is 149-151A C, 42-46A C (1.73kPa), the relative density is 1.684 (20/4A C), the refractive index is 1.5868, and the flash point is 60A C. Soluble in ether and acetone, insoluble in water.
Usage 1: For organic synthesis.
Usage 2: Used as an intermediate for the antithrombotic drug clopidogrel
Usage 3: 2-Thienyl esters are readily prepared using CuBr-LiBr and chloroform-treated Grignard reagents.
Usage 4: By bromination of thiophene derived. Dissolve thiophene in acetic acid, and add bromine in glacial acetic acid below 10A C. Water was added to the reaction mixture to precipitate an oily liquid. Extract with ether. Add potassium carbonate to the extracted solution to remove acetic acid, dry it, distill off the ether, and then carry out vacuum distillation to collect 42-46A C (1.73kPa) fractions to obtain 2-bromothiophene with a yield of 55%.
