Metaquench

The quenching operation are objected to the controlled cooling of steel components in a fluid to provide specified properties. Though molten salts, Brine water, synthetic quench ants can be used as quenching medium but the petroleum based medium have the following advantages due to easier control to provide uniform hardness and large scale automation. Metaquench SM
These are blends of refined oils and contain no additive. This grade is recommended for general purpose quenching of components and particularly suitable for quenching of CYNIDED parts. This is recommended for desired lower quenching speed. The specn. Meet IS-2664-1980 Straight Mineral Type grade Medium and Heavy.

Metaquench A
It is an additive type of quenching oil with good dispersants characteristics. It has excellent heat transfer properties and also controls soiling of metallic parts by preventing dirt from accumulating on the metal and thereby ensures uniform hardness with minimum quench distortions. The quenching speed is much higher as compared to SM grade.
