Operating Principle:
Permanent magnetic drum is designed and manufactured in such a manner that only half of its side is magnetized and the other half is not magnetized. An empty stainless steel 304 shell which surrounds the magnet rotates freely. The magnet is stationary. Ferrous particles which get attracted are collected separately as shown.

Construction: The magnetic drum incorporates a number of oriented, isotopic permanent magnets assembled in such a way to give alternate polarity across the circumference depending on the application. The magnetic intensity in case of permanent magnets is more uniform than electro magnets. They operate at low operating cost due to non use of rectifier and electricity and are more reliable as they operate even during power failures.
