SPECIAL FEATURES OF LINK MOTION PRESS
To accomplish precision and quality of forming, the conventional crank press was designed for rigidity with improved quality of die elements. Today, the press technology has achieved its high performance and better productivity with added value and high quality as the link motion press was developed. Blanking, bending, forming, drawing, extrusion are some of the characteristics of press operations; each has different requirement and criteria subject to suit the end product and quality. For example. blanking requires accurate shear face without crack and wrinkle at the bend while forming requires accuracy.

The link motion press's entire reciprocal cycle has a high velocity at approach, low during engagement and fast withdrawal, i.e. slow around the BDC, to reduce the impact of work piece suffered during formation. With fast approaching and withdrawal velocity, the production speed does not go down, but reduces the vibration and noise during blanking, thus it prolongs the life of die, gives smooth cut face, reduces the possibility of deterioration and replacement of die, which results in high processing speed. Besides, with high power stored in fly wheel during drawing, the process time is reduced, for various geometries.
