The Linear inverted pendulum is a classic problem in control theory and widely used as benchmark for testing and evaluating a wide range of classical and contemporary non linear control methods. It consists of a DC Motor driven cart using rack & pinion arrangement, cart carry the freely hanging rod through rotary joint. The cart and rod positions can be sensed through high resolution encoders. The experiments like, self erecting and balancing the rod vertically upwards can be performed using this plant.
