Prefabricated, Custom adjusted ranges of motion (ROM) controls and restrict flexion / extension of the knee joint through a multi point joint fixation system to allow a range of motion or immobilization to the knee. Universal design allows it to be used on quite a big range of population and for a multiple orthopedic problems associated with knee joint in specific and the lower limb in general.

Indications

Mode of action

• Prevents the knee joint from unexpected load, motion to stimulate healing process as knee joint can be fixed at any flexion angle controlled motion between any two chosen flexion angles.


• Provide stability to the weak / injured knee joint.


• Adjust strapping for secure and comfortable fitting


• To prevent an excessive range of knee joint motion


• To decrease limitations in maintaining a standing position or in walking short distances.

1. Affix the hinges on the two sides of the knee joint with the Velcro on the inner side of the hinge, so that the centre of the ROM knee brace joint coincides with axis of the knee. Take care that both the hinges are upright as per the arrow mark and the bending is in line with knee bending.


2. Wrap the Velcro bands around the leg one by one carefully.


3. Fasten the Velcro strips with the reverse buckling to a comfortable, secure grip.

Movements

• If immobilization required at a particular angle then moves both, flexion as well as hyperextension pins to holes corresponding to degree of flexion required.


• If flexion movement is required between two angles then move the flexion pin to the hole corresponding to higher degree angle and the extension pin to the hole corresponding to lower degree.


• If no flexion bending or movement is required then both the pins be affixed at 0 position


• For free flexion movement of the leg place flexion pin at 120 degree and extension pin at 0 degree
  

PERFORMANCE

It gives initial result in 10 to 12 days and proper results come in 1.5 to 2 months after proper use of Paragon ROM knee brace as guided. After that gradually its use can be stop.
