A Thermocouple consists of two dissimilar metallicwires, thepositive and the negative wire, which have a commonjunction at one end (i.e. Hot Junction). A difference oftemperature, between hot junction and cold junction (i.e. freeends) of thermocouple legs produces thermoelectric voltage, thevalue of which depends upon the temperature difference betweenthe hot junction and the cold junction.

TYPE a Ka (NiCr/Ni)
Thermocouples are recommended for continuous use inOxidizing or inert atmosphere at temperature at temperature of1000A C and up to a maximum temperature of 1200A C. Standardwire diameters are 1.6mm, 2.5mm,and 3.2mm approximately.
