Isoxaflutol is a chemical compound from the group of oxazoles more specifically cyclopropylisoxazoles. Isoxaflutol is a white solid which is insoluble in water. Isoxaflutol is used as an active ingredient in plant protection products. It has been used since its launch in 1995 as a herbicide against grasses and broad-leaved grass such as Abutilon theophrasti Amaranthus retroflexus Setaria faberi Setaria viridis and Panicum species in maize and sugar beet. The effect is based on the inhibition of the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvatdioxygenase (HPPD).

Bayer CropScience markets Isoxaflutol together with the safener cyprosulfamide as Balance Flexx. It is stable as a solid and in solution at pH values of 6 and less.
