Melting point is 113.5 centigrade, boiling point is 184.35 centigrade, the relative density of 4.93(20/4 centigrade) is slightly soluble in water, solubility increases with increasing temperature; difficult to dissolve in acid; soluble in organic solvents; iodine is easily soluble in chlorides, bromides; more soluble in the iodide solution; dissolved sulfur, selenium, ammonium and alkali metal iodide, aluminum, tin, titanium and other metal iodide.
