Hmg Injection

COMPOSITION:

Each ampoule of MENONYS
Inj. 75 contains:
75 I.U. of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) activities
and 75 I.U. of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) activities.

Each ampoule of MENONYS Inj. 150 contains:

150 I.U. of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) activity and150 I.U. of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) activity.

DESCRIPTION:

MENONYS Inj. is a Highly purified preparation
of gonadotrophins extracted from the urine of post menopausal women.

INDICATION:

In Assisted reproductive techniques (IUI& IVF/ET)

In Induction of ovulation

Clomifene non- responders

In hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism

MECHANISM
OF ACTION:

IN FEMALES:

MENONYS Inj.
has the equal activity of FSH & LH.
its helps in the maturation
as well as rupturing of Graafian follicle, hence it helps for Ovulation.

MENONYS Inj. is used in IVF-ET for ovulation
and to retrieve the 'ovum'.

IN MALE:

MENONYS Inj. helps in soermtogenesis as
well as the testosterone production.

MENONYS is used in IUI for the quality
of the sperm.

DOSAGE:

In femeles:

75-150 I.U. per day for 3-5 days followed
by hCG (PUBERGEN) 5000 I.U. to 10000 I.U. one day after the last dose
of MENONYS Inj. or when the follicle attains the size of >18mm

MENONYS Inj. should not exceed 12 days
in a single Course of therapy.

In Males:

75 I.U. 3 time a week and with alternate
day hCG (PUBERGEN) 2000 I.U. per week for minimum of 12 weeks.

ADMINISTRATION:

IN FEMALES:

MENONYS Inj.and HCG (PUBERGEN) given in a sequential
manner are indicated for the induction of ovulation and pregnancy in
the anovulatory infertile patient, in whom the cause of Anovulation
is functional and is not due to primary ovulation failure

IN MALES:

MENONYS Inj. With concomitant h.C.G. (PUBERGEN) is indicated
for the stimulation of spermatogenesis in men who have primary or secondary
hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism.

MENONYS Inj. with concomitant h.C.G. (PUBERGEN) has
proved effective in inducing spermatogenesis in men with primary hypogonadotrophic
hypogonadism due to congenital factor or prepubertal hypophysectomy,

In men with secondary hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism
due to hypophysectomy, craniopharyngioma, cerebral aneurysm or chromophobe
adenoma.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

IN FEMALES:

1. A high Gonadotropin level indicating
primary ovarian failure.

2. Overt thyroid and adrenal dysfunction.

3. Abnormal bleeding of undetermined
origin.

IN MALES:

1. Normal gonadotropins levels indicating
normal pituitary function.

2. Elevated gonadotropin levels indicating
primary testicular failure.

3. Infertility disorders other than
Hypogonadotrophic Hypogonadism

STORAGE:

To be stored under fefrigeration between
2⁰C to 8⁰C.

PRESENTATION:

MENONYS Inj.75 and MENONYS Inj.150 are
supplied in sterile lyophilized form in ampoule containing 75 I.U. FSH/LH
activity and 150 I.U. FSH/LH activity.
