Hydrazine hydrate is existent in the form of dimer, miscible with water and ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform; it can corrode glass, rubber, leather, cork, etc., and are decomposed into N2, NH3 and H2 at high temperature; it has a strong reducibility, and react intensely with halogen, HNO3 and KMnO4, and can absorb CO2 and produce smoke in the air.
