Green Veneer Tapes

This Veneer Tape is used as edge protection Tape at the time of Veneer Peeling from the Green Timber Logs. When it comes in contact with the Wet Veneer surface, it takes moisture/water from the veneer and its adhesive is activated to give a wet and strong bond on the complete edge of the veneer and protect it from splitting along the fibre of the veneer. The Base paper is 40% wet strength high tensile Kraft paper and coated with high moisture retention starch and acrylic adhesive. The wet Strength property of the paper retain the tensile strength of the Green Tape even when wet.

As the moisture contents of the green timber varies from 60-140%, we have two kind of Green Veneer Tape, Alvi-GV-XX60, for low & medium Moisture Timber (60- 100%) and Alvi-GV-XX90, for medium to high Moisture Timber (100-140%). Alvi Green Veneer Tapes are available in 8,9 & 12mm width and in standard length of 1000 Mtrs
