GranisetronA isA used toA prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy and radiation therapy.A GranisetronA is in a class of medications called 5-HT3A receptor antagonists. It works by blocking serotonin, a natural substance in the body that causes nausea and vomiting.

Nausea And Vomiting

1 mg twice a day or 2 mg once a day for up to one week following radiotherapy or chemotherapy. The first dose of granisetron should be administered within one hour before the start of therapy.Maximum Dose and Duration of Treatment: Granisetron is also available as ampoules for intravenous administration. The maximum dose of granisetron administered orally and/or intravenously over 24 hours should not exceed 9 mg.
