The Fuel Level Sensor's linear output voltage is directly proportional to the sensor's field, perpendicular to the sense element. Non-contact performance is made possible by state-of-the-art linear programmable, fully integrated Hall effect and Anisotropic magneto resistive (AMR) technologies. Rotating magnets generate Hall voltage with a sine wave response signal, with zero when the magnets are parallel to the sense element and plus/minus when the magnets are at angles to the sense element. The sensor operates in a linear region of the sine wave response signal.
