B. clausii benefits are attributed to the antimicrobial substances produced by probiotic strains and to their immune modulator effects. B. clausii strains release antimicrobial substances; these substances are noted to be active against bacteria, in particular against Staphylococcus aureus.

Bacillus clausii sporulated strains are actually used in the treatment of gastrointestinal illnesses to restore intestinal flora because of their antibiotic resistance and ability to stimulate immune activity- a class of bacteria dubbed probiotics.

Due to the changes in temperature the in-take of the Prawns will drop substantially and will result in gut infection which will lower the yield.
