In a rickshaw it is seen that the battery is there only for the first 6 to 9 months when it is new. There after battery is not required by the driver. Also some drivers due to faulty wiring, puts some sort of local battery charger kit which over charges the battery, leading to early failure of batteries, resulting in damage of Digital fare meter. So with the practical conditions of existing old rickshaws, sansui has come out with a Dynamo/flange box which is fitted between the fare meter and the dynamo/flange output of rickshaw. Thus the battery is no more required instead the AC out put of 8v to 100v from rickshaw dynamo/flange depending on the throttle/rpm is used to power the fare meter through this additional fitment of dynamo adaptor. Thus saving the cost of investing in a new battery now and then.
