In Feed and Out Feed

Through the feed, the material to be separated can be input into the the infeed chamber of the scroll, where it is slowly accelerated. Whirler decanter outputs the transported solids by axial force via outfeed bushes (openings at the tapered end of the bowl).

Decanter Bowl

The material to be separated reaches its peak speed in the decanter bowl, causing the solids to decant on the bowl inside diameter. A characteristic feature of the bowl is its cylindrical+tapered shape.

Decanter Scroll

The scroll is the transport screw in a decanter centrifuge. It rotates at a differential speed (in relation to the bowl) and transports the decanted solids towards the tapered narrowing end of the bowl.
