PRELIMINARY OR PRETREATMENT

Its a very first stage, the removal of larger materials and grit that if not removed could hinder subsequent treatment processes.

PRIMARY TREATMENT

It is usually comprised of preliminary treatment followed by primary clarifiers or any solid separators which remove approximately 50% suspended solids and 35-40% B.O.D.

SECONDARY TREATMENT

Its a Biological Treatment Stage. 90% removal rates of B.O.D. and suspended solids are typical of secondary treatment.

TERTIARY TREATMENT

Its a final stage, advance technologies generally used for further removal of nutrient, elements & polishing of waste water.
