Constant Force Spring is a spring that exerts constant force over a range of motion. It does not follow Hooke's law. Usually, constant force springs are developed as rolled ribbon of spring steel in a way that the spring is relaxed while its fully rolled up. The restoring force comes from the portion of ribbon near roll, when it is rolled-up.
