Attapulgite also called Palygorskite, mineralogical classification belongs to family of sepiolite, is a kind of layer-chain structure of hydrous rich magnesium aluminum silicate clay mineral. Attapulgite has great specific surface area and certain ion exchange performance, most of positive ions, water molecules, a certain size of organic molecules can be adsorbed into its pore canal. Attapulgite has stable electrochemical performance, hard to be electrolytic flocculation, high stability at high temperatures and in salt water. Widely used for desiccant, anti-blushing agent, adsorbent, catalyst support, bacteriostat support.

Attapulgite clay desiccant working temperature should be under 50a , if temperature over 50a , water release is bigger than water uptake. But clay desiccant is very cheap, so it becomes one of main mineral desiccant in the world.

Clay Desiccant has no deformation and no fever after moisture absorption, very few water-soluble substances, no corrosion to metal.
