Key Features
The device is used along with follya s catheter to accelerate cervical ripening and induction of labor. The follya s catheter can be passed through this device first and then into the cervical canal to reach above internal OS. Then the bulb is inflated with 80ml of saline. Then the folly is pulled down with force and fixed on to the side hole of the device under tension. The tension on the folly exerts a pressing effect on the cervix which is sandwich between the follya s bulb and the device. This pressing effect will facilitate rapid ripening and dilatation of the cervix. Usually ripening and dilatation with follya s catheter alone will take a long time. But if used along with this device the dilatation is very fast (30 minutes to 2 hours) if the cervix is very unfavorable some more time will be needed. I have used this device in more than 300 cases successfully and there was no complication. This can be used for dilating the cervix for D&C.
