Description:
Catonil has a cationic charge attached to it, which
improves the internal strength properties of the paper. The electro
kinetic attraction promotes a more intimate contact between the anionic
cellulosic fibre surfaces and the starch hydroxyls.

CATONIL is available in three grades as mentioned below:

CATONIL-200, DS 0.015 min.

CATONIL-300, DS 0.025 min.

CATONIL-400, DS 0.040 min.

Moisture: Not more than 14%

Ash on ds: Not more than 1.5%

pH of 5% solution: 4.5-6.5

Screen analysis: 100% passing through 85 mesh BS


Application: Catonil can be used to increase the retention of fillers
and fines and to improve sheet strength properties at a low cost. It
can be used at a level of 2-10kg per ton of pulp.



Preparation: For preparing paste, Catonil is slurried in cold water
till free of lumps at 3-6% solids. The slurry is heated to 95C and
maintained at that temperature with mild agitation for 30 minutes.
After cooking, the paste is diluted to 1% solids before adding to stock
or may be added directly to the stock. The point of addition is
commonly at the intake side of the fan pump or as close as possible to
the head box of the paper machine.



Packing: Catonil is available in 25 kg plastic lined HDPE woven bags.
