chemical components are bacoside A and B, asiaticoside,

Action
:
Triterpenes:
1.
It reduces the immobility time and ameliorates the imbalance of amino
acid levels in brain tissues.
2. It improves the function of HPA
(hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis and increasing the contents of
monoamine neurotransmitters.
3. It protects against the
deterioration of microcirculation due to diabetic microangiopathy.

4. It stimulates collogen synthesis thus helpful in wound
healing.
Saponins / Asiaticosides:
1. It causes inhibitory
effect on the expression and activity of inducible nitric oxide
synthase (iNOS) during gastric ulcer healing.
2. It stimulates
the reticuloendothelial system where new blood cells are formed and
old ones destroyed.
3. It decreases lipid peroxidation and
enhanced induction of antioxidant levels.
