Functions :
1)Tests transparent and translucent gemstones,detect optical properties pleochroism and synthetic .
2)It can identified the polycrystalline or cryptocrystalline and singel crystal;
3)identified uniaxial crystal and biaxial crystal according to the interference figure under the interference ball.
4)Identified isotropic gem and anisotropic gem.
Limitations:
1)Not applicable to the gemstone with opaque and dark color.
2)Not applicable to the gemstone with too much crack and blemish as well as inclusions.
Attentions:
1)when testing the anisotropic gem,the vertical axis facet shows full darkness,have to test many facets.
2)The polysynthetic twins shows full brightness,it's not the phenomenon of polycrystalline.
3)The transparent gem with too many cracks would be full brightness of the view edge.
4)The abnormal double refraction should be abserve carefully, sometimes combine with other instruments, such as the red garnet when ther
