Battery powered Climbing Device

The PowerQuick Ascender is a battery-operated work positioning device
that makes working at heights quicker, safer, and less expensive. Think
of it as a portable elevator that climbs a standard rope.

The PowerQuick Ascender was originally developed as a climbing device
for the United States Special Forces under a Defense Advanced Research
Projects Agency (DARPA) contract as a device that allows Special Forces
personnel to safely and quickly ascend buildings, ships, etc for
tactical applications. It has been designed to lift a person, or
persons, to upper levels by simply attaching the unit to a standard
climbing rope and pulling the trigger.

The PowerQuick Ascender actually moves vertically or horizontally along
the length of the rope. Quicker and safer than manual climbing, it is
less costly than the standard lift equipment needed for lightweight
jobs that require repetitive climbing.

Using a rechargeable battery, PowerQuick Ascender meets industry and
military requirements for a safe, cost-efficient, portable lifting
device that is practical for a broad range of industries and
applications.

A major advantage of the PowerQuick Ascender is in the reduced fatigue
of the workers, which in turn, increases their workplace efficiency;
this leads to reduced operational costs, greater productivity, and a
higher profit margin for the company.

The PowerQuick technology made international news in 2006 as the first
fully man-rated battery-powered climbing device in the industry.
Technology developer, Quoin International, was awarded a DARPA Company
of the Year Award for their invention. PowerQuick Ascender has since
been featured on The CBS show

"NUMB3RS" and Discovery Science's "Beyond Tomorrow." Most recently,
PowerQuick was shown on the MTV reality show, "Parental Control," which
aired on March 2008.
