Actis Plasma Coating MachineActisTM barrier solution (Amorphous Carbon Treatment on Internal Surface) uses dedicated plasma coating technology to extend the shelf life of sensitive drinks. It provides the container with an internal carbon-based coating, which strengthens the barrier properties of PET packages to gases (O2 and CO2).The ActisTM process is specifically designed for containers susceptible to gas exchanges (ingress of oxygen (O2) and/or loss of carbon dioxide (CO2)). This technology is available in two versions (ActisTM and Actis LiteTM).The ActisTM layer, in direct contact with the beverage, prevents any PET-related migrations (acetaldehyde, oxygen, water). As the carbon coating completely adheres to the inner wall of the bottle, ActisTM-treated PET is resistant to delamination, particularly under hot and humid conditions.
