Protract is the next generation in acidifiers for poultry. The active protective base of Protract is made up of a combination of honeycomb shaped mineral matrix imbedded with buffered organic and inorganic acid salts that are released in a controlled mechanism throughout the intestine.

This combination ensures that the organic acids pass through the stomach to reach the small intestine and hindgut.
The active protective mineral matrix of Protract*helps in colonizing acidophilic commensal bacteria that release lactic and butyric acids into the gut lumen. This further more helps in protecting the animala s gut from colonisation by enteropathogens such as,
E. coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter and Clostridium.

Reduction of pathogenic bacterial colonies in the small intestine prevents damage to the villi, which are essential for nutrient absorption.
