Back in the nineteenth century, few villagers of Brahmanagar with the support of other adjacent villages inspired by the speech of the rebellious poet "Kaji Najrul Islam" formed an agricultural credit co-operative society in an effort to stop get exploited by cruel money lending merchants (Mahajans) of the locality.

The organization developed through their determination and willful mentality is today known as Brahamanager Syamabay Krishi Unnayan Samity Ltd. We have made a co-operative enterprise, organized and managed by nine elected directors with a belief to build a better world. The sole aim of the enterprise was to do something better for the local area. A small unit was set-up and registered in May, 1998. Over the years, it grew at tremendous pace and indulged into multi-purpose activities and social works. This leading Society of the District is indulged in several businesses such as banking, polyhouse, fertilizers and pesticides, Car for hire, fishery and food products include Fruit Jam, Mixed Fruit Jam, Sauce, Pickle, Jam, Mango Pickle, Mixed Pickle, Tomato Ketchup, Tomato Sauce, Vinegar, Ghee and more...
