Improving Iron Absorption: The ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in the combination enhances the absorption of iron in the intestines, making it more effective than other forms of iron supplements, which might not be absorbed as well. General Nutritional Supplement: It is sometimes included in multivitamins or iron supplements to provide both iron and vitamin C in one product.
