TOPIC : Payment of commission form Indian exporters
Posted on 07 August 2009 at 12:09:00

Sir,

One of the buyer contacted me for supply of cargo around 1000 MT. The buyer agree to supply the cargo and informed that he will pay 3% commission to me. The buyer instructed me that 2% commission from his side may also be taken from the seller.

Accordingly, he placed a trial order for 25 MT and made advance payment and the seller paid the commission to me. However when I asked for Fee Production Certificate, he intimated that is no required.

On receipt of the trail order, the buyer placed further order of 50 MT on phone and made the payment When i asked for the commission the seller intimated that he has not included in the quote hence will not pay the commission. The buyer informed that i should get it from the seller.

Now further the buyer requested for 600 MT of the cargo for which he make payment on LC. The seller has agreed to supply the 600 MT on higher rate including my commission of 3 percent.

How do I get the commission of 50 MT for which the seller received payment.

Dear Mr. Pillai,

My question is buyer placed the order of 50 MT through you or directly to supplier? Whatever the situation is once you introduce any buyer to a supplier & rate of commission is settled it becomes supplier's duty to cover your interest for all forthcoming supplies to same buyer.

As per fair trade practices supplier should pay you the commission for this particular lot also.
