Dear Members,
Found this on the net. Hope it will be helpful to all. So here goes:
The Internet has permanently affected small businesses in multiple ways. Many of the effects of the Internet are positive, including better exposure and larger customer bases. A website turns any local business into a global business. However, there are downsides to the Internet where small businesses are concerned.
Exposure: A story on the Internet can be spread across the globe in a matter of seconds. A small business that gets media attention online is much more likely to attract customers than a newspaper article.
Expanded Customer Base: Small businesses that invest in a high-quality website can reach customers all over the world. The increase in customer traffic from the Internet can help keep a small business running.
Advertising: The Internet offers cheap advertising in many areas. Banner ads, feature articles and other forms of advertising are inexpensive and help drive traffic to a small business's website.
Interaction: Websites and the Internet provide a platform for customers and businesses to interact. E-mails, website ratings and comment sections help small businesses access feedback and connect with their customers.
Considerations: The fierce competition of the Internet can make it difficult for small businesses to thrive. Small businesses that cannot afford to maintain a good website often lose business and money on it, which can cause them to close.
